Attitude of Gratitude

We opened Joy Daniels Real Estate Group in 2010 and it’s now 4 years later.   I would not have enough room to write down all of the things that have happened during those 4 years for which I am so thankful.  This contest has helped me realize that there were some “negative/difficult” things that happened and now looking back, I am actually thankful for those events too.  What is clearer now that these “unjoyful” situations are passed is that they brought growth and wisdom.

GratitudeGratitude is something that I personally work on every day.  When I wake up each morning, I thank God for a new opportunity.  I encourage my team and am very conscious of being grateful for most anything they do.  Creating a culture of gratitude is really a simple concept but one that is often overlooked in the Real Estate industry, but one that really works to motivate everyone.   One of our missions these past few years is improving our relationships with others…and by others, I mean everyone;  customers, realtors, appraisers, lenders, inspectors, anyone we come in contact with!  There are so many real estate agents that are in it for the sale or just for "today" and we don’t want to be an organization that misses the big picture.  Our mission is to show gratitude to all those we come in contact with.  This happens from the top down.  No one is exempt on our team from being thankful to anyone everyone and anyone they are dealing with, even the difficult clients.

The biggest place that gratitude is missed overall in the our industry is with other real estate agents.Attitude  Guess what?  Other realtors are your clients. We want them to sell our properties, we want them to want to work with us and we want them to come back to us.  We’ve all known realtors that we don’t want to do business with (unfortunately, there are probably more of them than we care to admit).   Realtors have pride issues and they easily build barriers.  Our goal is to break down those barriers and treat realtors as if they are our clients.  Gratitude and a thankful heart is one way those barriers get broken.

We are “INTENTIONAL” about building this culture.  INTENTIONAL GRATITUDE!  It doesn’t just happen without intention.  You have to make a decision to act thankful every single day.  Continually recognizing how much  you have to be thankful for in your life. Trust me, you have no idea how it can impact you and your company’s future.

Culture matters!  It can change your business, it can change your company, it can change an industry and it can change you!  What kind of culture do you want to build?

A culture of Thanksgi!ving and Gratitude is a good start!
