Build People Up - Reblog

I read Diane Daley's Blog and felt like this would be a great post for the Servant Leadership Group.  http://activerain.com/groups/servantleadership.  All of us are in the people business - whether we are Broker's or Managers or Realtors or Husband's, Wives, Sons, Daughters, or Children.   How we treat people will effect almost everything we do.  Diane's Blog is a great encouragement to Build People Up!

Build People Up (Members Only)

Better relationship deliver better solutions.

We are in a people business. It is very important that we build strong relationships with the people we service as agents for.It is equally important that management personal look for all possible opportunities to build their people up. As a Principal Broker I have to spend time being grateful for the agents that make this office tick. They are the ones that are out with the public and bringing in the repeat referral business because of how they treat people. One of my sayings here is WE treat people how they want to be treated... They Want not how "we want" the focus is on the others. Listening skills are a must here.

I feel we need to give credit where credit is due. Remember to show gratitude to your agents; recognize the positive things they do, have constructive discussions on how they can improve, I let them tell me where I can improve also. I encourage them to challenge themselves or try something new. I have an open door policy for discussions any topic that my agents feel are important to discuss. Sometimes they have an idea they think will improve business. So we have an open discussion on things we can try...then actually try it out. Some work great others not so much but every-ones thoughts and opinions are important and worth the time to listen and try. Happy agents are dedicated agents who will be a positive light to the public about your office and services. They make your business shine... build them up.

Amen to that. How we treat people affects everything we do in life. Boy do I come across alot of people that aren't very good at treating people well.
